I believe in sharing amazing natural images that show the beauty of the earth to inspire your dreams of visiting these locations or spark a memory of pleasant times. My passion is for those epic landscapes of iconic places, so travel is mandatory. My favorite time of day is the the beautifully silent and restorative hours around dawn and dusk. Arriving on scene an hour or more before sunrise I scout the best location and begin the patient wait for the first shimmer of pink light. At dusk I capture vividly colorful scenery as the golden sunshine fades and the oncoming darkness casts it’s blue tones. I strive to capture an extra surprise in my images as mist rises from lakes and rivers, the first edge of the sun creates a starburst pattern, or the rising moon makes an appearance. The capture of these fleeting “moments” in time requires dedication to “being there” when everyone else is sleeping or enjoying an evening meal, and ready to shoot when the moment happens. Of course it also requires a deep knowledge base of photography and software to optimize images and decades of experience. I firmly believe that a photographer’s education is never done, and when I am not dreaming of my next location to explore, preparing for travel, traveling and shooting, I spend countless hours every day keeping up with the newest software releases or just learning something new.
I use my website to share these photos from my adventures around the globe and my blog to share stories and to help my fellow photographers grow their skills, and have published a few eBooks towards that goal.
