A visit to Rockport Massachusetts had long been on my bucket list. A couple days stopover on the way to Maine and Prince Edward Island checked this lovely location off my list.  As a child I had a puzzle of a bold red fishing shack decorated by colorful buoys in a bright blue body of water.  It is a scene I never forgot and had inspired many childhood dreams – this one icon may have shaped my love of colorful seaside cottages and boats and even prompted joining the US Coast Guard.  Many years ago I searched online for photos of that red fishing shack and recognized it in photos of Bradley Wharf in Rockport Massachusetts.  Known as Motif#1, it is a replica of a former fishing shack well known to students of art and art history as “the most often-painted building in America.”  I hope you enjoy these photos of a lovely harbor town.
