It is that time of year to present my Favorite Photos of 2020! Unfortunately, 2020 was the year of Covid-19, a viral pandemic that swept the world and sickened and killed so many people! It was an unforgettable year that disrupted business of all sorts and required everyone to wear masks, stay home, and wash hands often. The travel industry was particularly impacted as some overseas travel was banned, domestic flights had few passengers, and hotels closed their doors, some permanently.
I was fortunate in that the pandemic had a slow start and my February photography tours of Death Valley and Joshua Tree National Parks,, and Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area were a go without a thought of the pandemic already raging in China. But subsequent tours planned for 2020 were cancelled – northern Wales in early May and Alaska in June had been planned, anticipated with excitement, and paid for in advance. What a real disappointment as I was forced to switch gears for the long haul “stay at home” routine.
So I present my favorite photos of 2020 from just three locations – Death Valley National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, and one image from Red Rock Canyon National Park, in that order. If you hover your cursor on the photo the name/location of the photo will be displayed.
