Lerici is a beautiful small town situated in a bay on the coast in the province of Liguria on the Italian Riviera. It features 2 castles at either end of the bay. The bay front is also shared by another town called San Terenzo and takes approx. 30 minutes to walk the full distance from one to the other, very pleasant. Lerici boasts a huge variety of restaurants which serve excellent food, there are also a number of speciality shops. There is a private beach as well as an open beach for tourists. I was delighted that my hotel room was on the waterfront in Lerici with doors that opened to a private balcony with an expansive view of the sparkling blue Mediterranean and a small private umbrella-covered beach (see last image below). Gorgeous!
