I recently visited Washington DC during the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. In spite of all my planning, the cherry blossoms were late to bloom and I only saw buds during my visit. That didn’t stop me from getting some low light images of the monuments, staying out past dark, and getting up at 4AM. It was well worth it – during the day the monuments were swarmed with crowds of people, but there in the dark I was alone, or so it seemed. While in the Jefferson Memorial photographing Jefferson’s statue I made the mistake of walking away from my camera bag. Security appeared in a few minutes – it looked like an “unattended” bag to them. Luckily I retrieved it before the bomb squad appeared. I returned to DC at Christmas and added a few pics to this gallery with the Christmas tree. Hope you enjoy!
